Gum arabic is the gum resin of the acacia tree that grows in Sudan and Senegal. It has been used for centuries for its versatility for a variety of purposes, ranging from culinary to industrial and medicinal applications.
In the home kitchen, gum arabic is used as a thickener, emulsifier and stabilizer. It is water-soluble, colorless, tasteless and odorless. Its uses are similar to those of gelatin, with the difference that this ingredient is 100% natural and therefore suitable for vegans and Muslims.
Store in a cool, dry place, shelf life is maximum 24 months.
