Tajine meat with plums

Ingredients :

  • 1kg lamb or mutton
  • 30g “Tajine meat with plum mix” from Moroccan Spicy Secrets
  • Handful of sesame seeds from Moroccan Spicy Secrets
  • 100ml olive oil from Moroccan Spicy Secrets
  • 1 large tomato
  • 600ml water
  • 200g dried plums
  • 50g sugar
  • 1g cinnamon from Moroccan Spicy Secrets

Recipe for 4 people:

  • Marinate the meat with the olive oil and the Tajine meat with plum mix
  • Cut the tomatoes into slices
  • Take a tagine or a large cooking pot
  • Spread the tomato over the base
  • Place the marinated meat on top
  • Add a dash of olive oil and pour in 450 ml of water
  • Place the lid on the tagine or cooking pot
  • Turn the heat to low and let it cook for 1.5 to 2 hours
  • Take a cooking pot and fill it with 150 ml of water (15 minutes before the meat is done)
  • Add the dried plums, sugar and cinnamon
  • Place the pot on the heat and let it simmer for 15 minutes
  • Garnish the plums with sesame seeds
  • Add the plums to the meat

Tips:

**Garnish with hard-boiled eggs
**Use orange blossom water to add extra flavour to the plums
**Serve with bread
