Chicken tagine with vegetables

Tajine kip met groenten

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken thighs
  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 zucchini
  • 1 potato
  • 1 sweet potato
  • Handful of peas
  • 60 ml olive oil from Moroccan Spicy Secrets
  • 30 g Tajine chicken with vegetable mix from Moroccan Spicy Secrets
  • 250 ml water

Recipe for 4 people

  • Marinate the chicken with the olive oil and 15g of the herb mix.
  • Take a tagine or a large cooking pot and add a dash of olive oil.
  • Slice the tomatoes and onion and spread them over the bottom of the tagine or cooking pot.
  • Sprinkle the remaining 15g of the herb mix over this.
  • Place the marinated chicken on top.
  • Add 250 ml of the chicken marinade to the bowl, mix well and set aside for later.


  • Arrange the zucchini, carrots, potatoes and sweet potatoes over the chicken.
  • Sprinkle a handful of peas over the whole thing.
  • Pour the water with the chicken marinade between the vegetables.
  • Place the tagine or cooking pot on a medium heat and let it simmer with the lid on for 50 minutes.
  • Remove the lid from the tagine or saucepan and let it simmer for 10 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
