Cardamom pods
Cardamom pods have a sweet, sharp smell and a slightly spicy, fresh and lemony taste. They are used in curries and savoury dishes, but also in cakes and pastries.
Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum) is a herbaceous plant from the ginger family and is native to southern India.
Cardamom is attributed with several health-promoting properties:
- Helps with stomach and intestinal complaints
- Promotes appetite
- Helps against bad breath
- Helps against anemia
Store in a cool, dry place, shelf life is maximum 24 months.
