Nigella seed
Nigella seeds, also known as black cumin, have a nutty, slightly bitter taste reminiscent of oregano and onion. Sprinkle them over bread and rolls before baking, or cook them in chutneys, curries, lentil dishes, and meat preparations. Briefly toasting enhances the aroma.
Nigella sativa is a plant from the buttercup family that grows mainly in Asia and the Mediterranean region.
